I have a few things to say.

1. I didn't know you knew I had a blog so I was pleasantly surprised to see your comment on mine--and also, high praise coming from you. Much appreciated.

2. The comments on this post are hilarious.

3. Megan and I have decided that, in addition to watching the Muppet Christmas Carol, you need to give us a ride in your car, which we still have not seen.

That is all.

Provo Car Owner - first of all I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to take my post seriously. So many people think that the internets is about a joke - it's not. It's a serious communication device that people don't understand too well all the time - they think youtube and stuff is funny. It's not. Funnier stuff happens at my parties.

Yes, I like giving away paper. I feel like when I give away paper at least I'm DOING something. And as far as getting out of the car and being cold when you take the flier off - if you would go to a couple of those parties you would probably meet enough people that you could have friends get out of the car to take off the flier. And then go make some more friends at the next party - it's perpetual.

Being a party planner is not easier - it is WAY harder than being a successful blogger (which apparently TI is - sorry, I'm new to all this).

Donny, I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to my next party. I am going to have a very impressive DJ in town who I think you will be excited to see in action. TI, you should come too. I may even be able to work out a deal on the cover charge.

Dear Donny,

I'm with TI on this one - I really don't like when people put stuff on my car either. I get all buckled in, and then I have to get out again to take the trash off. As an Oregonian, I can't stand littering, but even more so, I can't stand the waste of paper. I have never once enjoyed finding someone else's junk on my car. And even if I do read the paper, you can be sure I'm too annoyed to even think of attending whatever it's advertising.

My advice? Locate your target market - which, contrary to popular belief, is not everyone in Provo who owns a car. Send an e-mail, put an ad in a paper, spray paint your body with the information... just stop wasting paper, making TI litter, and causing a general sense of anger towards you and all your flier-happy friends.

PS. You seem really upset. Is it because you love to give people paper? If that is the case, I am sorry. But there is hope - I know plenty of places that love to receive paper. Schools... bonfires... under-stocked bathrooms... There are places where your gifts would be better appreciated. Best of luck!

Dear TI,
I think Donny has a point. Going to more Utah parties WOULD make you less annoyed when people leave junk on your car. Clearly this is a solution you should try.

Towering Intellect (I use that because I don't know your real name):

I am an event planner in Provo and I think that your generalization that we are trying to ANNOY you or do "lame-o" parties is just wrong.

We do these parties to uplift and inspire people - if you don't like the flier, take it home - IT'S A FREE PIECE OF PAPER! Use it as scrap - we don't EVER ask for it back.

In the future you should think about why people do things before you attack them acting like they are bad. I've lived in Utah for a long time now and I've never been to a bad party here, so obviously you just need to come to more of them.
