Kick ‘Em To The Curb

July 10th, 2007 by Nate

In a move that I have to appreciate, Sprint Kicks Whiners To The Curb. Now, before you get mad, consider that we’ve all had to deal with whiny people who simply won’t be satisfied. Let’s face it, chronic whiners suck. And when you have a friend who acts that way, it doesn’t take you very long before you start screening their calls, hiding when they ring your doorbell, and *gasp* blocking them on your chat clients. And the best part is that nobody will begrudge you that.

I honestly can’t blame Sprint for doing the same thing that any one of us would do. In fact, I think that in a world where it seems that companies are walking on eggshells to preserve their corporate image, it’s refreshing to see that Sprint is willing to make what is most definitely a smart decision regardless of possible PR blowback. But don’t take my word for it. Listen to what Seth has to say about it.

Now think about this in terms of your own life: Do you spend a lot of time, effort, and energy trying to please that one person who always runs you down? Are you always trying to impress the unimpressible or satisfy the constantly critical? Maybe it’s time to give them a mental kick to the curb as well.

I think you are right. Nobody likes a whiner. Sprints customer care is not that great but their csr should not have to deal with whiners. That is not going to make them any better

My dad fires patients all the time. If the patient calls in asking for meds too often, appears to be abusing meds, or lies about meds they are taking, then my dad simply informs them that he his terminating his contract as their physician, and that they need to seek medical help elsewhere. This isn’t a new idea that Sprint has, but props to them for using it in a new way.
